Hey everyone I was needing some help trying to find out some information regarding TWA's use of single aircraft mainly the use of Stinson SR series. I know TWA used them but not sure for what. Also I am not sure what model of the SR they used. There is a picture of a SR series Stinson with TWA painted on it in the AHM but no info. Any help would be great. |

TWA used a number of single engine aircraft for route development. It being cheaper and easier to send a couple of pilots in a small aircraft to fly the proposed route and make notes of landmarks, facilities and any difficulties along the way than to divert a money making aircraft. They were aslo used as 'hacks' for small package AOG, and internal courier services. |

GOOGLE 'STINSON production lists' and find the site that lists 4150 Stinsons (40 pages worth!) If you've got an N # you might find exactly the airframe you're looking for. |

TWA used at least two WACOS, an AVN-8 and an AGC-8 in 1938. |
