I live about 20 miles north of Opa-Locka Airport where the DC-7 is based. Last weekend, I heard a low rumbling in the distance and getting louder. I sort of have an "ear" for old recips and I soon saw the DC-7 flying north along the beach, about 1/2 mile from me! About 10-15 minutes later, there he went, running south along the beach! It was a great site!

Pat - Ralph' s article is very nice (he also has an article in the latest "Air Classics" issue), but a thread on the restored DC-7B had been started quite a while back by Ralph himself and was about half way down the 2nd page in the Vintage Aviation sub-forum:
