Does anyone have a lot of flight time in the Vagabond? I checked myself out in one todsy and found it to be quite "twitchy." Every takeoff and landing had a significant pucker factor. Thanks |

I have owned a couple, and have ferried others around the country. Give me a call if you like. Eric Presten (707) 939-8913 |

Thanks Eric. I will give you a call. The student/owner is 67 years old and I don't want him to tear up the airplane. John |

Do you have the one with the solid gear and the basketball tires? I don't remember it to be too bad directionally but it was a bit bouncy in pitch. |

It has an 85hp. engine, the stiff landing gear and the tires look to be different from a Cub type. They are about the size of basketballs. It also has the wing tank. |

The one I flew had a Lycoming O-145 and a wood prop.It also has the wing tank. I had a bunch of Luscombe and Champ time so it didn't present any particular problems for me. |

Thanks for the info Erik. You really know your stuff! YOu helped fill in the missing gaps and we flew three flights for about three hours today. I was able to get in the groove and did eight landings with a couple of those on asphalt, no brakes. I had the student do everything except the actual touchdowns and will have him finished in maybe a couple more hours. Neat airplane! |
