Hi there,
I would really enjoy a thread, where there would be a list of airworthy replica golden age air racers. I know there were several built in the past decade, but probably there is a lot more.
So, if you don't mind, bring on some eye candy!

Good thread Aereform! Anyone got any "spy" photos of Wilson and Carlson's replica Bugatti 100 Racer project? As far as I know, they don't have a dedicated website.

If you look at the last photo of Mr. Mulligan and the Mystery Ship you will see our "Golden Age" air racer parked there. We have owned it 45 years and it is still going strong. Built especially to win the 1930 Ford Air Tour, a 4800 mile transcontinental race. We have had it at both the Golden Age of Air Racer events at Oshkosh. The airplane is the only 1930 Waco CRG NC600Y.

Well, here's a rocket ship, raced in the 1930 Chicago National Air Races with a monowheel landing gear and girls bicycle wheels mounted on the wingtips. Race #17, came in 3rd in 115 cu. in. class
Jim still has the monowheel l/g, we keep telling him to put it on and take it to Oshkosh as one of the few flying original Golden Age air racers...
I assume the Richard Kamm in the other photo credits was the one who taught at Parks College? If so he was my powerplant accessories instructor.

Pity the small images at the Jim Kimball site are not working.
For my taste the LT-14 is the most spectacular of the bunch. Who built it?
Europe is also not idle. May I turn your attention to the excellent replica of Zlin XIII?

There is of course the G-AEXF, but I think you all know that one.

Sorry Baldeagle, but Jim's Aeronca C-3 wasn't yet built in 1930..., it was built in 1932. You are correct about it coming in third, in the under 115 cu. in. class race during the 1933 International Air Races, held in Chicago. Ave. speed about 70mph! Had 9" wheels from a girl's bicycle on the wingtips, and the monowheel undercarriage, which was streamlined with fabric over a wire frame.
