:( Unfortunately I was unable to attend Festival of Flight this year due to a workplace injury. I ended up with a fractured left fibula out of it, so although I could theoretically drive to Watts Bridge I would have been useless dragging a camera around the airfield for 2 days on crutches.

Fortunately I'm on the mend with a suitable amount of rest and my left leg in a cast for at least another 3 weeks and then another fortnight off work then light duties until I'm considered fit to return to full duties. And to think I'd put my leave app in and had it approved and all then this happens. Oh well, I'm enjoying the enforced rest, it's giving me the time to do some thinking about where I want to go with my photography.

I'm rather disappointed that I couldn't go and take hundreds of pics like I did last year and then share some of them with all my friends here at WIX and on other sites. Still, that's the way the cookie she crumbles sometimes.

:roo: Cheers,
Ross.

Ross, sorry to hear of your mishap....quick healing wishes sent your way from Canada.

I figure that a day at the airfield is theraputic for whatever is wrong. Give it a try :D

Cheers,

Jeff

:D, G'day Jeff,
Thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes. Yes a day at the airfield certainly is therapeutic, the only problem is that particular airfield is some 800 odd km drive away and I think that as well as hobbling around oggling the old timers and then driving home would have been too much for me, even if I'd broken the trip, which wasn't my original intention. There's always next year and some flying days and weekends closer to home. I should be out of the cast by the time the Catalina Festival at Rathmines rolls around on the 24th and 25th of next month.

:roo: Cheers,
Ross.
