We have 3500 ft paved and useable grass (about 2000 ft) on the south side of the runway. |

We love to have "social gatherings" at our hangar. Ever since we moved into the new hangar it appears we are the local hangout. Always have to keep the fridge stocked with adult beverages. We may try to do another gathering this Fall in October. |

Hi Andy, Thank you very much for the great pics! A bunch of beautiful aeroplanes!!! I especially like the paint scheme of NC863V. How is the fuselage coloring planned? A middle large stripe like on Waco QCF NC11457 or all dark blue? I'm thursty for more pictures when it's completed! Kind regards Hans |

The fuselage will be Insignia Blue with a cream stripe. It will then have the Warner engine logo with the Scarab beetle in gold leaf centered on the stripe aft of the rear cockpit with "WARNER" above it and "ENGINES" below it. It will also have a speedring cowl and an original set of the long narrow wheelpants only found on 1931-32 Wacos. The instrument panel is all engine-turned brass with brass bezals around each instrument. It has all original PIONEER instruments that have been overhauled and will have the original throttle/brake set up. Engine is a 145 Warner with a wood prop. |

What a superb display, Andy! Really nice. And the red Fairchild didn't look out of place too badly, so I think we should make it a goal to get to your neck of the woods next year -- heck, we got to Pelee Island this year. It's not much farther. Our Taperwing at Vintage Wings has had the cylinders off this year, and away for overhaul. They're due back anytime now, so I'm really looking forward to "breaking them in" and putting a steady few hours on the airplane this fall. Here's what I was doing on Sunday. It was an Open House at my Dad's strip/farm. He had all his old cars and tractors out. And I flew the Tiger 10 times, bringing new members into our Foundation. Lots of fun! (once I cut down 2 trees in the fence row). It's a stock DH 82A, un-modified, still with the original tailskid and no brakes -- interesting on a 40 ft wide strip. ![]() Dave |
