That makes about 4 or 5 they've wrecked in the last few years

That's a really bizarre video. What happened? It looks like the pilot just let the airplane gradually drift towards the treeline along the edge of the runway. I'm sure there was more to it than that, though. Was it some kind of directional control problem - locked brake, broken tailwheel, etc.?

There's an ongoing thread on the problems of Old Rhinebeck in The Aerodrome forum...

 Wow.

A shame to see. Hopefully the group there can make a come back soon. Stuff like this never looks good.

Appears to be a total brain cramp, I'd have much rather heard the commentary from the participants than Bing Crosbys rendition of 'Brother can you spare a dime?' Unless they did that to cover misplacing the trees and strip.

Sad to see, and it looked preventable.
When did this accident happen?
I don't see it reported in the last three months when I searched the NTSB site.

How the heck to they get insurance?? I know operators that have had a tough time with insurance after one wreck.....

(Just glad it seems everyone was basically OK....Even if the New Standard wasn't)

Maybe because their insurance agent is also on their board of directors. No conflict of interest there.......

Looks like they were very lucky that the wings were the only things that hit the trees.

Ok, that was weird. What's the deal with the music...? That place just isn't what it was when I was a kid...sadly. Maybe it's time to sell off the collection for it's own good. Thoughts?
