How about a few Pic from here in KC of the Airline history Museum and the aircraft we are working on flying soon.

First here is a shot of the out side of the hangar and the original TWA rocket from the top of the HQ here in KC. the hangar is on the south west corner of the wheeler downtown airport MKC. come see us.

The star of our show is our L1049 Connie the talk of her demise is NOT true. Yes we have had a few bumps the past few years but we our working toward a 2009 Show season. inspections our getting started and the work is moving forward.

Our next to fly is our DC-3 This bird has been in the works for going on 15 years NC1945 was fist deliverd to TWA right here in KC in March of 1941. and was part of the TWA fleet untill 1952 when sold to North Central. She was one of the few DC-3's to stay with the airline during WWII to fly VIP's . and the billboard over the windows " Victory is in the air BUY BONDS" was on the airplane during the war. we hope it gives us that warbird tie in for shows. She is coming together fast and we are starting to rase funds for eng. & prop overhaules Her are a few pic.

Late 70's??

Great stuff! I've been a huge Connie fan all my life. I've never had the pleasure of seeing Star of America fly in person, but maybe some day, I will. Please keep the photos and information coming!

A good friend of mine, the late Gordon Hargis, was one of the Connie's pilots. The "old timers" at AHM will surely remember him. He kept me informed on the ship's restoration as it was going on, as well as supplying me with quite a bit of general Connie history. He was a career TWA pilot who had 8,400 hours in Connies while with the line. I miss him, and I think of him every time I see The Star!

Cheers!

Thanks for the updates. I am very hopeful that things are moving in a positive direction and I look forward to seeing the Connie in the air again this year.

Keep us posted.

Great update! The DC-3 is looking good. Like the interior! It would be great if you posted updates as often as you see new progress. Post away!
