:D these were taken at Watts Bridge. First is the Stinson Reliant, then a Stinson Voyager.

Now for a couple of Cessna classics, a 1954 195 then a 1940s 140

And a couple of Piper classics, a Super Cub first, then a Pacer, the first one of these I've seen in the flesh.

Some more later.

Hi Roger,
There are plenty more where they came from. First, a beautiful Stearman. This one is owned by the couple that own the Stinson Voyager

Next, a 1929 Fleet Model 2.

Followed by a Beech Bonanza.

and a Cessna 185?

The 140 is a 1948. Nice one too, it is a past winner at Oshkosh, even if the propeller hub is not original. Tailwheel is also a mod as this one looks like a Scott 3200, not the original Cessna one.

I loved the pics of the 170 as well. This is what I would own if I had the finances instead of my '48 140. This one looks pretty original.

Thanks for posting these nice pics !

Always interesting to see what has headed "downunder". Did not know that that Fleet was there.

Cool pictures Ross, thanks for that Stearman too. Nice 170, I had a couple friends that had those that we used to fly with. You have a T-28 in the background of one of your pictures, got any full shots?

Ross... thanks for posting the pics. Looks like a clean A model 170. That Fleet use to live at my airport here in Texas. The two previous owners were friends of mine. I believe the current owner of that Fleet bought a Waco Cabin from another friend of mine as well. (Andy... Mike's old Standard Cabin!!)

One day I made an attempt to fly formation with the Fleet. I blew past him... came back around with 20 deg of flaps at 80 and still blew past him! I think they were cruising at about 60mph!

I too am a big fan of Classic Wings magazine. So keep posting pics from your side of the globe!

:D G'day Dan,
Only too happy to post more pics, but they'll have to wait till Monday. I have to go to Sydney tomorrow for a 2 day 1st stage of a leadership course with the volunteer first aid organization I'm a member of. That Fleet is another of Mal Shipton's stable of vintage birds. With that exhaust system it sounds like a VW engine on steroids, (or a chaff cutter) and I have to agree, it is slow, but surely that's not a bad thing in an ab initio trainer. I started on Cessna 150s and gradually worked my way up to the Rockwell 114. I wouldn't have wanted to have started on the Rockwell that's for sure. I'm gradually organizing more photos in photobucket to upload and there will also be some in the aerobatic and general aviation section soon.

Regards,
Ross.

Ross, I thought that Stearman looked familiar. It used to be owned by Bill Dekker and was previously registered as N620BD, mc/n 75-5620. It was a regular here in Northern Ca, and I saw Bill just last weekend at our SAH meeting.

G'day Ross,
Nice pix- I like that red 195. Do you have any shots of the DH Dragon Rapide in the background behind the first Stearman photo?
Do you have any Tiger Moth photos? Last weekend I got myself involved with the recovery and restoration of Lone Star's Moth that was flooded by the hurricane.
