Post subject:  Mort Brown, chief flight test pilot, Cessna Aircraft 1937-72

I recently had the immense pleasure of talking with this fine gentleman. This man has been at Cessna Aircraft almost since the beginning and tested many of the initial Cessna models such as the Airmaster, the 120-140-170-190-195 Series, and many others.

What is incredible is that at close to 100 years old, he is still sharp as a young man and is a treasure trove of information on the history of the brand.

He even had a look in his logbook but unfortunately, he did not flight test my 1948 Cessna 140.

Him and his wife Sharon who is also a delight to speak with are compiling a lot of historical data about the early Cessnas and he is also writing a book about it. His web site http://www.mortbrown.info provides some previews and some exclusive pictures as well.

I was fortunate enough to receive from them a CD-Rom filled with many pictures of early Cessnas that I had never seen before, including one signed by Mort, at the controls of a brand new 1948 C-140. Sweet !

Check the site and if you can talk with them or have any information you would like to share with them, you would make them real happy !
