Hey Scott, Great pics from the house that Cole built. I have been going to Rhinebeck since 1983 and it is a wonderful thing every time we go. I remember seeing the Albatross replica the first time we went (I was 13) and the Curtiss Fledgling really stood out as a neat airplane. Over the years some of the airplanes have been put away, some have been restored and others havent fared so well. (The accident report on the Avro 504k was a suprise to read the following monday) The Fokker DVII in both the current paint and the Brothers Grimm. The Jenny in its "as removed from the railroad car and flown since..." and the freshly restored Navy look. The Hanriot, The Bleriot, The Pusher... I have some great airplane memories from Rhinebeck, My first ride in an open cockpit Biplane, New Standard in 1984 We were there for Cole's last show a few years back, as guests of Stan Segalla and he brought us through the hangars on the hill and gave us a story on almost every airplane up there. My favorite being the story of the Spartan Biplane, Stan found it in a barn and told Cole about it at dinner one night. Later on Stan went to buy it and Cole had already picked it up. OOPS! Be quiet and eat Stan. OK I'm done rambling on, but I really like going there and especially bringing someone who has never seen anything like that K.L. |

Don't worry Scott Taluse is doing fine after getting his head slammed by the trunk of your car (stupid dog sticking his head places he shouldn't ![]() Here are some of my pictures, I'll be post some more tonight. http://community.webshots.com/album/202492436eMTgBn KRLang, next time you head down contact me I'll be up for another trip down, the weather this time was a bit hit and miss with high winds and clouds. How I wsh I could have been there for Cole. He looks like quite a guy! |

Nice photos, but what you decide to go to Old Rhinback without asking the rest of us New England guys if we want to go well I see how it is now. ![]() Great shots look like your haven fun with the 20D Cheers RER Considering that the trip was sort of fly by the seat of your pants (we weren't positive Tim was going till we saw him at Rheinbeck) I didn't have time to organize a more formal gathering with the logistics involved. Now see, if you moved down into civilization it might be easier. ![]() |
