Isnt she pretty!!!!!! that 3rd one is not bad either............but the 1st???? looks like it got hit with the ugly stick :axe:

I'm not all that familiar with the N3N, what makes it any better than a stearman? I worked on stearmans for a few years for a ride operation and can't say they exactly overwhelmed me...

well I guess you can ask a B-24 pilot what makes the B-24 better than the B-17??? There are differences even though it does the same job.


Well here are some, not that it makes it a better airplane, but in my eyes it does.

Faster cruise
All aluminum structure..............(no wood wings)
4 ailerons instead of 2
Navy Built airframe
Navy Built engine
Able to be on floats
and last,.................just too dam sexy!!!!

I am going to deny saying this.....but......if I had my choice of a Stearman or an N3N I too would choose the N3N....just something about them I like...must be the Wright engine or the 30x5 wheels......or the fact there are not 500 of them around. However, a Stearman is better than no biplane at all :lol:
