Roger, where is Schellville? I've picked up from context that its somewhere in the general vicinity of Sonoma.

It's actual name is Sonoma Valley Airport, and it is located about a 40 minute drive from San Francisco, heading north and slightly east. If you've ever hear of Sears Point Raceway, or Infineon Raceway, it's another five minute drive north of the racetrack. Here's the airport info: http://www.airnav.com/airport/0Q3

Got it Roger. Sears Point, oh yes! Never been there but I used to be heavy into car racing. The only time I've been north of LA was making a fast run to Salinas to pick up a Falconer V-12 for a car we ended up never building. I remember driving through some town around there that bills itself as the garlic capitol of the world. UGH! We didn't get that smell out of the truck until about Phoenix.

blue skies,
Doug

A slightly larger tour: http://www.napanet.net/~arbeau/usaah/
Click on the aircraft of Schellville
This is Sonoma Valley Airport, a mile or two away is Sonoma Skypark, which has an equally nice collection of vintage aircraft.

Wow, thanks Roger! Duh...another light bulb just came on. Quite a few aircraft there I recognize from here, calendars and books. Several names are familiar too.

Found this neat photograph I took of Schellville airport in October of 1988. They must have had a dispaly day or some kind of event. It's always fun to go to Schellville no matter what is going on. You can see a few Stearman's, a Swift, Broussard, STK-3R, Waco UPF-7, a couple of t-6's, and of course, four PV-2D's. Oh yeah, I think Bill Ewert'z Great Lake's is just forward of the Harpoon on the right.

Nice picture, got anymore? The good ole days of four PV-2's on the ramp, just one there now.
