Great photos Mark. I flew mine right after the rain storm on Saturday afternoon. On the level, it really exists and it really flys! One of the regulars at Creve Coeur said he would email me some photos of it in the air from Saturday. I know you guys are starting to think I'm making it up.

Terri Lee Chastain is flying the blue and red Rawdon T-1 (SP?) in your photo. I think she's taking it to Oshkosh and if she does, she will be the third generation to take that T-1 to the EAA convention. She's one of the few young people hanging around the airport. The WACO flyin should have been sponsored by the AARP or maybe Geritol. :D What's going to happen to all the antique airplanes when the current owners quit flying or head West? :?

Hi Al!

I believe you especially if I can come out and shoot some photos of you in it flying! Seriously though, sorry I missed crossing paths with you Friday afternoon and I'll give you a shout before I head out there next time.

Cool about Terri Lee and I too notice the lack of youth (or at least not AARP eligible) when I go to airports anywhere. My 4 year old son loves planes and trains and I hope that carries thru to when he can more actively participate. Question for you - do any of the line "boys" do it for the love of flying or just as a job? A few years ago I made acquaintance with a few guys who were in flight training for the airlines and they saw it as a job only - there was little if any love of aviation involved. Pretty sad in my view...

So what's the next event at Creve Coeur (besides Tulio coming back into town)?!

Enjoy the Day! Mark

I'm not quite AARP eligible (though they send me stuff) but I'd work the flight line for you guys just for grins.
I have a smidgen of Stearman ground crewing at LS. I've broadened my horizons considerable since being with Lone Star and hanging around this outfit and that includes a greater appreciation of Wacos, Stearmans and their kind.
Let me know when the next event is to I can make plans.

For the less educated among viewers of this thread, could y'all identify some of the aircraft? My fave is a tossup between the Yellow/black NC1252W and the UPF-7 in the faux Stearman color scheme. That's pretty original in my book.
Whose Cessna Bobcat?
Doug

Hi Doug -

I'm heading out to Kansas to see friends for a looonngg weekend. I'll run a list when I'm back. According to the FAA database, the T-50 is owned by Robert Penny of Versailles, MO.

Would be great to have a WIX get together next year!

Enjoy the Day! Mark

How did you get all those photos with no one around? Were you the only one there? If so that bar looks like it could last you a long time.

Man Wheels Up, I'd be heading east if it weren't for the fact I am going to head west for a small "escape" vacation. I hope you post some photos from your event - would love to see what will fly there. Good luck with the weather too!

Enjot the Day! Mark

WACO aircraft designations can be confusing. Here is a link that I have found handy.

http://aerofiles.com/wacodata.html

*IMHO WACO's design zenith was achieved with the production of the D series. Let's face it, the coolest airplanes have guns! I think the only one left is Dick Jackson's S3HDA and I would gladly become a eunuch to own it.
