That's what has always been said, famously, about the Piper Cub: It's just barely fast enough to kill you.

JP, I know Rob Erdos (Chief Test Pilot at the NRC) was involved in a Bleriot first flight at OSH a couple of years ago. He would be about the best choice I can think of for a pilot for the first-flight of the second Bleriot built by your friend.
