Ryan, Roger and John, My father in law sold that blasted Taylorcraft today. Money changed hands and the new owner and his a&p went to work taking the wings off for transport.
I was asked to help market it but when I didn't tell in-laws what they wanted to hear, they got persnickety. They came down to $12k for the price and Buck just can't understand what's wrong with flying a 66 year old engine that's never had a MOH. Yeah it still runs smooth right now today but it might spit up a piston at the county line. The buyer lined up a one way ferry flight permit but his main wrench said "absolutely not."
I told Lynnett to ask her dad for the guy's name and address since I'd like to get in touch with him just to talk airplanes.
Work continues at Lone Star and I'm now involved with the Tiger Moth.

blue skies and bugs in your teeth,
Doug

Well, that makes me wish I had 12K, but then again - last year I saw a really nice looking Taylorcraft for 12K that included an annual on Barnstormers. That one was really tempting - except for having to fly it over 1500 miles to get it home - and not wanting to go into debt. Glad to hear it's going to (hopefully) a good home.

Ryan

Hi Ryan,
All I know is that the new owner lives in Colorado. Two people kept saying they were seriously interested in it at 12k and this guy put down earnest money last week to hold it and paid the balance today.
