Yep! and that lead to more than one 'crashed short of the runway' incident. The inboards are still two detent T/R's on the Super series. (no speedbrakes)
The initial reason was the airframe didnot have onboard pax 02 systems when certified and the plan was, in an emergency @ 35K, the flight crew would deploy the T/R's to get to a safer altitude ASAP-that lasted about two incidents and those involved spent weeks trying to release their grip on the seat cushions, the then brand new FAA said 'uh...we don't think so...'wasn't life simpler when Ozzy and Harriet ruled the world?
