what type vintage AC involved in this wreck?

Sat Jul 13, 2013 12:01 pm

Caught this video (posted a year ago) involving a vintage Aircraft and I was wondering what type of aircraft it was. Mostly interested because I wanted to see what the performance envelope was for it. The video seems to show a textbook case of the effect of density altitude. Vintage plane with 4 passengers, Plane barely gets off the ground after a very long t/o run, then struggles to gain any altitude then impacts trees on what appears to be rising terrain. A real shame. Anybody know what type it was? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDu0jYiz-v8

Thank you, what a beautiful little airplane. After reviewing the NTSB report and the performance info in the pilot's handbook, I can't believe it got off the ground at all.
