Pan American Clippers: Boeing 314, Martin M-130, S-42 in Art

About 4 months ago I was commissioned to paint the Pan Am 'Yankee Clipper' Boeing 314, and enjoyed such positive feedback afterwards that I went ahead and decided to do a series covering the famous Clippers.
My next piece was the Martin M-130, which visited New York on its maiden voyage.
Than, getting back to the tropical theme, I painted the S-42.

Does anyone have suggestions for the next subject worth covering?

Beautiful work...I'm curious if perhaps you were asked to do this in alignment to a possible book on PanAm that may be coming out?
My late dad flew Boeings 601, 602, 604 & 605 in mid '43 and also Martin 716, all between SFO and HNL. His last flight in one of them was in B-314 604 from HNL to SFO on 7-5-44.

Great stuff CA! A little suggestion, while you're in the Pacific state of mind...perhaps a few renditions of interwar Japanese and German civvy seaplane airliners? Thanx!!!

I did paint the Junkers G.38 a couple of years ago. I'd like to do a 'Mavis' in commercial colors. Also the Dornier Do X, and S.55x.

Yes and no. The 314 was commissioned for a living room in Florida, but it has been since picked up as the cover for a cook book containing old First Class Pan Am recipes:
It'll be released for their big reunion in Pearl Harbor next June of 2014.

I would love to see one of the Pan American Boeing 377 Stratocruiser! I know, it's not a flying boat, but they were Pan American "Clippers."

In case there's any interest, PanAm 30V was the first commercial airliner to go to Antarctica, in October of 1957. It was a charter for the USN out of Christchurch NZ and was only on the ice for 3.5 hrs. Ralph Savory was the pilot and my late dad was co-pilot. Ralph recently passed away in Santa Rosa, Ca at the age of 100.

According to the Infallible Font of All Human Knowledge (ie. Wikipedia) there is currently an airline - the sixth since Big PanAm's demise - attempting to start up in Atlanta
