Hopefully we can rely on the YouTube characterization of "une réplique" on its first flight.

We have unfortunately learned this year that no aircraft is too old or slow to kill its pilot, so let's be thankful for the apparent lack of serious injury.

Looks like it was a work of art. That is a real shame. I'll bet the pilot is truly thankful that the constructors deviated from original in the mounting of the seat using aluminum.

I'm sure it was also a challenge to fly based on the state of aeronautical knowledge when the prototype was designed.

I would say that it was a bad idea to test fly an airplane like that with that much wind blowing. Surely they could have waited until a calm day.

Narrative:
Aircraft over banked turning downwind resulting in loss of longitudinal control . After two loss of control events the pilot attempted a downwind landing , stalled at 8-10 followed by right wing contacting runway. Aircraft was demolished at impact. Contributing factors were runway thermals , wind excessive for this type, pilot's lack of familiarity with wing warp early flight characteristics, and pressures to complete the flight .

Was indeed the first flight although a few rapid runs were done on one occasion in the previous days with "small hops" in straight line

As the builder had two Blériot in production, a second one should come in the future, so let's hope we will see such images again soon
