A Forum for those interest in vintage NON-military aircraft

My friend Blake recently sent me this link, which mentions a book written by the wife of a man who flew the DH 83 Fox Moth (the same one which I fly for Vintage Wings) from Belgium to Leopoldville in 1934.
http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl ... d%3DimvnsbI can't seem to find a copy, even on sites like Abe Books.

Anyone know where I might look?
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
I'm sure you've done this but a google of the author's name brings up a few references like the Yale and Australian national libraries, and an antique book shop in Belgium (

Interesting photo in your post.

Yeah, if that guy doesn't pull a little harder on that halter then his ass is grass.
Thanks, Terry, I'll contact them.

Hello Dave,
I hapen to live in Kapellen, Belgium close to the "Wolvenbos" where Mr and Mss Hansez-Fester used to fly the Fox Moth !
From the pics in your post I see that you've already found the link to an article on the Belgian website hangarflying.be that features the Hansez-Fester flight,
http://www.hangarflying.be/nl/content/het-vliegveld-van-kapellen-wolvenbos.
You can download (or view) an article about this flight by our local historical society Hogheschote at the following link
http://issuu.com/heemkring-hoghescote/docs/bruggeske-2000-4-december., see pages 126 to 140.
Hope this helps a little,
Kind regards Jan aka Louis Bleriot

Interesting that the cowling is shown as chromed in the picture, I know we talked about this before Dave. Wonder if we could get Oscar to perform his magic?

I can't link to that photo, but found a similar one in another site.

There are also some interesting photos of her in the Flight Global Archive, but I can't seem to lift them out of the PDF pages they're embedded in. Such as this one, where Guy-Hansez flew her to Egypt to participate in an air race.
http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/ ... 01318.htmlSteve, I think I prefer the blue -- it shows engine oil less!
