PSA DC-3 at Chino

Thu Jul 28, 2011 11:41 am

Is this a Planes of Fame aircraft or private individual? It has been parked on the ramp next to PoF but outside the fence line for at least a couple years.

Is the intent to make it airworthy, or is it just going to keep sitting there?

It is technically airworthy. It gets run and worked on periodically. I have seen it fly. It belongs to the Friedkin family. They are the founders of PSA.

When you say 'technically airworthy', do they keep it in annual? I walked around it the other day and the airframe generally looks airworthy, although both wheel wells had quite an infestation of spiders possibly other critters.

Was it always a PSA plane? I thought it was interesting that it had the 'paddle' props that you usually only see on C-47s.

Any idea when it last flew?

Thanks,
Andrew
