A Forum for those interest in vintage NON-military aircraft

Hi Folks,
My late Father was a pilot. He served in WWll as a Link Trainer instructor as at that time, the Army Air Core placed Combat Restrictions on those who wore glasses. He passed in 2004 and I am just now going thru his things, one of which is the aforementioned computer. It is somewhat like the Dalton Mark Vll as it has a flight log on the front in addition to the computer. This device has two straps along with two curved rubber objects screwed into the back that allows the pilot or navigator to strap it to his leg. It was MFD. by G. Felsenthall & Sons of Chicago in 1944 and the design was applied for copyright by James M. Erdmann. The part # is FDW-8. I did internet research and was able to find info on the Mark Vll, D-4 and the Chevron Avation Computers but could find nothing on this one. Any info that you may have would be appreciated. Thank You, Ken Bonnema

If someone should come across one of these in the future, please let me know. James Erdmann was my grandfather and an Army Air Corps navigation instructor. I'd love to have one of these.
