Flying with Arthur Godfrey

Fri Mar 05, 2010 6:57 pm

This film is new to me and is a fine piece of 1953 aviation promotion. Starring Arthur Godfrey with costars: Eddie Rickenbacker, Dick Merrill, Tony Levier and the Lockheed Constellation.

As a side note...when Athur Godfrey used to travel he would stop through at our airport in Dayton, Ohio known as South Dayton Airport when he had the chance just to hang around and fly the Wacos we used to rent. This was back in the mid-late 1960's

I have two copies of the movie in 16mm sound. My Dad had the 16mm copy made and duped later to VHS. He mentioned that when he hired in with Eastern (1952) they showed it to the flight crews. I guess I should see what it will take to get it to DVD...
