Spirit Of St. Louis Replica (SOSL2)

Does anyone have any information on the Spirit of St. Louis replica that is supposedly being built to fly the Atlantic in May 2009? The Charles Lindbergh web site that was taken over by the group doing the project NEVER has information on the plane. When I asked about it on the message board (on that web site) two years ago, I was banned (might have been my approach)!

Wasn't there a bunch of legal problems with it, including major parts of the airplane disappearing?
