Beech/Volpar 18S tri-gear N2500

Sun Oct 12, 2008 5:48 am

Beech restorations at Bruntingthorpe have been helping the owner of Beech C18S Reg # N2500, PT Barnum, with a total repaint of his aircraft.

PT brought this aircraft over to the UK almost 3 years ago to the day back in October 2005. Since then PT has been assisting Beech Restorations with building their hangar and other projects.

Over the last several months he has been very busy preparing the aircraft for it's flight to Australia. The aircraft has just undergone an Annual Inspection. Teething troubles with the port engine now seem to be overcome by the fitting of an exchange/overhauled magneto, and a new prop was fitted to replace one that had a hole appear in it!

Here she was back in November 2005, shortly after arrival in the UK:

...and here she is yesterday, on a brief flight out of Bruntingthorpe:

First leg on the looooooong haul to Australia begins, hopefully, on Tuesday with a short(ish) leg from Bruntingthorpe to Jersey.

Thanks to Col, Warwick, PT and all the Beech Restorations boys!

Nice paint scheme! Not too many tricycle Beeches flying. We had one at Lone Star; it was the founder's first corporate aircraft. It was underwater up to the window sills, so it's doo-doo now.

This is #2 in the family (out of 3). This one is a C-45 converted to Tri-gear. Has the one piece winshield and a very nice 2 piece cargo door.Image

I will take some good pics of the 1st one on friday. If the weather is good, were going to turn some cash into noise.

N3NJeff, I claim ignorance pretty much on Tricycle Beeches. How many are still around?
