Does anyone have information on a recovered a 1935 WACO CJC-S from Tapachula, Mexico. It would have been imported around the last of the 60's to early-mid 1970's1 She had red and white checker board painted cowling, wheel covers, and rudder; there was a Pelican on the tail. Registration then was N15236 Serial Number 4264. Not to be ruled out is the possibility that the WACO remained south of the border...just looking for the plane as described. thanks in advance.

IF that is correct registration and serial then it was a CJC.....basically a Standard cabin Waco (4 ailerons) but powered with a Wright J6-7.

Actually it was a 1935 WACO YKC-S, registered as N15236, serial number 4264. It originally had the Jacobs engine, which was replaced with a Continental W-670 in 1946. It belonged to my friend Pat Hughes. The WACO was abandoned in Tapachula Mexico when Pat was killed in the crash of his TB-25N, in Guatemala in September 1960. It is suspected that the WACO came back to the US as pieces and parts sometime in the late 70's or 80's. If anyone knows what happened to it I would appreciate you letting me know. I'm also interested in the circumstances of the crash of the B-25 N9091Z or N71606, near Flores guatemala. I have done an extensive search for information on both of these aircraft and most of the information on the www sites has come from me.
Thanks
KM

That is correct....it originally was a YKC-S when produced. I wonder who changed it to a CJC. Could be FAA registry error....wouldn't be the first time!
