received a squadron signal model catalog today. they obviously bought my name from the umteen aviation magazines i subscribe to. i was an avid model builder up to 1995, got divorced, & well.... time has been a factor ever since. i did significant business with squadron prior to my divorce, buying mostly tools & reference material. i was pleasantly surprised to get the flyer. i was astounded at the amount of obscure model types that are being made today!!!! rather refreshing!!!! who out their buys the obscure stuff & who buys the old run of the mill favorites???? favorites being .... zzzzzzz..... snore..... p-51, me 109, zeke, b-17 etc. obscure being anything italian ww 2, or minor axis nations 8) , anything other than zeke, betty, val, on & on.

Glad to see someone is still getting their Squadron flyer. I subscribed and got 4 months....and ordered a considerable amount of stuff.....

But, to address your thread....yes there are alot of obscure subjects being produced nowadays....and more to come. I build 1/48 and I am glad to see someone is finally doing:

F9F-2/2P Panther (Trumpeter/Hobbycraft)
F9F-8 Cougar (Trumpeter/Hobbycraft)
F2G Super Corsair (MPM/Special Hobby)

There are more I am certainly missing, but its great to know the hobby is still going strong.

Dante
