I am a builder and competitor of giant scale. My current project is a 1/5 scale F-G1 powered with a Pegasus 9 cylinder radial. I'm going off the grid with this one and fell in love with "lucky gallon" race 92. She was flown in the 46 Thompson trophy by Cook Cleland. Can anyone out there help me with the actual color used and paint scheme. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Jim |

Jim, This book: http://www.amazon.com/Round-Engine-Race ... 1580071856 Has a color picture. The only one I have ever seen. The base color appears to be cream and the markings are red. The race numbers appear to be darker, more like maroon. |

I too am an r/c modeler and would give my right arm for one of the big radials. Unfortunately they are a bit out of the budget right now. I do a lot of custom detail work for other builders and one of my primary projects right now is a full cockpit for a customer's CompARF Corsair. This is his "dream" project and we are going all out with the detail. He has a supercharged 9-cylinder radial for his bird which, if I remember correctly, he said was one of only fourteen that were made. Is that the Pegasus per chance? Anyway, best of luck with your bird and be sure to post some pictures of it. Regards, Chad Veich |

Thanks guys for the interest in my project, I'll post pictures as I progress, I'm still trying to nail down the actual paint, I'm sure it was cream and maroon but if anyone can help me out with any info on this aircraft I would be in your debt Regards Jim |
