Just finished Academy kit Lockheed F-5E Lightning from 13th Recon Squadron, Mount Farm 1944. Crashed over Germany.
Pilot Donald B. Bayne First Lieutenant, U.S. Army Air Forces Service # O-743397, 13th Photographic Squadron, 7th Reconnaissance Group
Entered the Service from: Massachusetts Died: 16-Sep-44 Missing in Action or Buried at Sea

Aires cockpit and scratch build [engine bay, photo bay, wheel bays and canopy. Paint Model Master R.A.F. Pru Blue, Gunze and Alclad.

Wow - I am impressed! :prayer: "I'm not worthy!" Question on the weathering - I assume the silver/white on the upper surfaces behind the fuel fill caps is to mimic the result of overflow fuel?

Mimics, scuffing from pilots and ground crew climbing onto and off the wing. Great job by the way!.

And the Haze Blue paint was notorious for being difficult to apply, weathering badly and general lack of durability
