I began designing and building planes about 9 months ago. I love military aircraft from all eras. Here are a few I have built. Got a few others in the works including p51, F86, Mig 17, a spitfire and a couple others.

Anyway, just ran across this site and figured I would post some of my builds for those interested.

Are those modified card model designs?

These are my own designs. I started by doing the designing without computer aid. It took forever :x

The A10, Zero and C130 I designed them using 3d programming. It really really speeds things up. Now I find the designing as much fun as the building.

Cool stuff. Ever think of doing a Mustang but with the cans inside out?

I had planned on giving that a try but I found that going against the normal curvature of the can leads to lots of small imperfections. It might be possible to take a diet pepsi ,which has a pretty good sized area of unprinted surface, and make an all unfinished aluminum look. That would be really neat looking.

Those are some amazing models. I have one question for you. How many bandages did you go thru?

Seriously, those are great. I love the A-10.

I have built 9 planes in as many months. Believe it or not, I have yet to cut myself once. What cracks me up is my brother came over Thursday, picked up my C130, and sliced his finger open. hehehehehehehehe

Oh man those are cool!

Considering the A-10's "retro" style, making one out of "throwback" cans is especially appropriate.

We do a lot of griping on this forum about old planes being turned into cans. But I was just looking over on SCIX (Soda Can Information Xchange) and they are really upset about perfectly good cans being turned into airplanes.

Also, there is a big flaming thread there about those retro Mountain Dew cans being the wrong color.

I have seen soda/beer can airplanes before, but these take the detail to a whole other level! Super cool! Now, how about a P-47? :D
