I just made these replica pieces out of some junk parts that I had. The Zero is made from a Lockheed Electra rudder and the Nazi dive bomber fin is made from a Beech Musketeer tail. I weathered them to make them look more like artifacts. I plan on taking them out and shooting holes in them this week to really finish them off. Image

Thank you! My goal was to make these look like spoils of war. I saw a photo once of the tail of a Zero on display at an officer's club and I thought that was kind of neat.

Your welcome. I prefer the salty look that you went for as well. Sort of thing that a GI or a Marine would bring home in their duffel or seabag, dings and all.

Did you think about painting the Electra tail fin in Amelia Earhart's markings?

I can't believe I didn't think of that one. I might have to remove the Japanese markings now! I think I like your idea better than mine.

Afterwards, you could leave it on a beach in Hawaii or California, and watch the hilarity ensue!
