I finally completed this full scale biplane front end today. I made it from parts that I was able to salvage from the wildfire that took out most of my aircraft parts. The main fuselage is from the burnt up tail section of a Russian trainer L-29. The landing gear are off of a 1940's Aeronca. The top wing is from a Piper Tomahawk. I'm not certain what the bottom wing was from. The engine is made out of a r1340 front case and some Volkswagen cylinders. The VW cylinders are to small, but that get the point across. The cowling is made out of a restaurant kitchen roof vent.
I designed this front end to be hung from a wall. ImageImageImageImage

Your creativity is beyond belief! That would be a natural for a 'performance bar' along with race cars and ball players gear-nice job :D

Really nice workmanship and I hope you find a buyer that makes it worth your while should you decide to sell.

I would totally hang that in the museum Cafe or Giftshop... Now all we need is a Cafe or a Giftshop at the museum

Seriously thought amazing work. Did you build that since the Aug wildfire?

I did build it since the wildfire. Fortunately for me, the landing gear, prop and cowling were here in my back yard. But the wings and fuselage sustained substantial damage in the fire. I lobbed off about four feet of the burned up L29 aft section to make the fuselage. The entire rear half of the wings had melted away in the fire. I brought these pieces home and threw them out on the ground. When I looked at the mangled mess for some reason I saw a biplane.

I had an air intake here at home that I used to patch a hole that the fire had made in the side of the L29/fuselage. It looked like as good as any of a place to rivet on the air intake. Do any of you have any idea what the air intake came off of? I have had that intake on the shelf for a while, but I have no idea as to what it went to. It is to small to be of a T-6.
