Far from finished. Just with the recent release of the 1/144 Sea Fury from F-Toys I had the final plane to complete the three piece. The Mustang will become Strega, while I haven't decided on what the Sea Fury will be. Any suggestions? I was planning on making it from 2005, being the most recent year Rare Bear took the cup in her old scheme.

What a cool idea. The base of the display looks good. I look forward to seeing it finished.

If you are doing a 'through the years' type piece, how about doing the F8 as the bare metal CONQUEST 1 and the FURY as "DREADNAUGHT'? I love the idea you are working with :D

"Sea Fury" + "Reno" = Dreadnaught!

Cool idea for the diorama! Keep us posted as you work through it.

Thats fine if there cutting the pylons right now. That will be fixed so there rounding the outside. My dad said the same thing. Thats why I like to preview dioramas here before there done. The one thing I'd have to consider is making that extended canopy for Dreadnought. But it is a fetching Sea Fury. My first thought was Critical Mass. Alot more work involved in redoing that one. Did Critical Mass race in 05?

Time to get in the back of the modelling desk, drag out, and dust off the old VAC-U-FORM

uggg, yeah, I can do the dreadnought canopy, its just a matter of motivation. Or are you offering to produce a 1/144 dual control Sea Fury canopy for me?

It's easy! Just open up and let a tube of putty set up rock hard, then carve away everything that doesn't look like the part you need!   :?

So I turned them around and positioned them accordingly. Looks more right, right?

I've started creating the large prop hub for the seafury. I found a 1/72nd scale P-38 drop tank that will soon become the perfect 1/144th hub. Strega's streamline turtle-deck has become more authentic looking and has received an overall smoothing. Keep in mind this diorama has a long way to go still.

I've always been a bit partial to #105, Stew Dawson's Spirit of Texas. :D If I remember correctly, he came in third in 2005. Here's link to pictures from Warbird Depot: http://www.warbirddepot.com/aircraft_fighters_fury-dawson.asp
