There are several good 'FOIL' jobs on here. The one by Larry Shred has some great tips, like boiling foil in eggshells to change the color of the foil. Also, never use the spray on glue.

I am starting my first foil job myself and I am scared to death. It is an old 1/32nd Monogram F-51D from the early 70's.

Wish me luck! I thought I would start both small and big at the same time. A small aircraft at a big scale. If successful, I shall attempt a 1/48th Monogram B-29.

Keep us posted! Don't be scared, it's really more a matter of surface preparation and planning than actually applying the foil. One nice thing about using foil is that if a section doesn't turn out just right you can remove the foil and adhesive and do the area over.

Are you using BareMetal Foil or another product? If it's another type I'll be very interested in seeing how it works for you.

I was going to use household aluminium foil as a couple of these guys did with their B-29's. Would you suggest another product?

Coming from someone that used to be scared of foil...don't be scared of foil! I haven't tried household foil/adhesive, but I can tell you that Bare Metal Foil is great stuff!
