Post subject:  Finally scored a 1/72 Corgi '909'!

I scored this at a local hobby shop today, they were closing and had a sale on all their Corgi stuff. I asked if they had one of the 1/72nd scale "909" B-17 models and sure enough they did, but a great deal on it...

I plan on finding one of those clear plastic display boxes for it and will build a base for it with fake concrete and oil stains. The thing that has me baffled is the 91st triangle on the upper wing. There should be an "A" there but there isn't. I know it's not correct for this specific aircraft nor any other 91st birds I know of. Even the box cover has the empty triangle as well. I guess I'll need to find a decal sheet in that scale rectify that. Otherwise, it's a very impressive (and heavy) model. I'll also need to look for a couple of 1/72nd scale Jeeps, too...
I have always wanted this model, drooled over them at shows in the past, as I'm a life member of the 91st BG association and have flown on the Collings Foundation's '909' look alike more than once.
