Aw, lighten up, it was made in jest and probably the only way you will get that nose converted.
And as far as modifications go, it is straightforward and relatively easy. If you have the skills to build the kit, you have the skills to reshape the nose.
Make a template from cardstock to check the profile while sanding and an X-acto knife can etch the hinges or fastener covers.
When you cut the blunt nose off, put in a short length of tubing. Glue another piece of tubing one size smaller than the first piece to the balsa block. Now you can fit the nose block to the fuselage without gluing it and it will be easy to replace if you sand too much off and have to start over.
And just think about it, when you are finished, it will be your modification and your skills will have grown by that much.
The downside is, your confidence will increase to the point where you might start looking at driftwood as something other than...driftwood.
