Avenger Dedicated to Tom Crawford

I want to first say that the whole reason this model was built was because of Tom Crawford. He is a man that was a father to me when I didn't have one. He was a mentor in such a way that he gave a me a career and a way to feed my family. He taught me what a work ethic really is and he taught me pride in everything I do. He has donated his time and money to restore and keep what we all hold dear, WARBIRDS. I miss you, Mr. Crawford and when this model has it's display case it will have your name on it.

If anyone can tell me how to put the pics in directly I will fix it.
I must say that it is my first complete model and I know there are things wrong with it but I also know that I am very satisfied with it and ,to me, that is all that matters.

Very nice, especially for your first model! Is that the Accurate Miniatures kit?

As for pics, when you drag your cursor over the Photobucket thumbnail, click on the last option, labeled "img code." A little yellow box will pop up that says "copied." Then just do a "ctrl-v" to insert the link, and the pic should show up when you submit your post.

Good job! If there is anything wrong with it, it escapes me. I like your weathering to, not overdone like on a lot of models.

Well done! Thanks for sharing your photos of the model and the story behind the project.

I wish my first completed model looked half as nice! Speaking of that, I wish I could complete a model!!

Yep, it's the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 scale. It was a very nice build except for that hellish turret. I liked the Accurate Miniature's work so well I bought the FW-190 for my next build.
Thank you so much for the kind comments, everyone.

What happened to Tom? I specifically inquired about Tom's well-being in a thread after Ike, and Elroy IIRC,
replied all LSFM members were accounted for. "Accounted for"???....I'm getting a sick feeling in my gut...say it ain't so.

PM if you prefer please, Staton?

Ahhh! Thanks Elroy! I don't know Tom but I look foreward to his posts..tho somewhat rare
lately. Traded PM's with him some time back concerning the "WIX fishing report" and he seemed like
a nice guy.

Staton, yes welcome to the WIX! Thanks for sharing your TC tribute Turkey..good work!!!
Sorry for the confusion, your reference to Mr. Crawford in the past tense had
me jumping to the wrong conclusion..In reflection, I should have considered
other meanings of that tense.

Tom is one of the great volunteers with me down at LSFM. He's also on the airshow committee and does a great job!

I'm really sorry that I gave the wrong impression but Mr. Crawford is a very important part of my life, unfortunately there are circunstances that have made all of this very hard to deal with. I really appreciate the help and the wonderful coments but I need to give Mr. C his place where he can enjoy this, the way he needs to. I will no longer post here.
Thank you so much

Okay guys! I'm alive and well. Just been lurking a bit. I did turn 67 a week or so back. A "special" thankyou, Bret, for a fine tribute. The TBM looks great, very nice detail and weathering. I know you were a long time
getting syked-up to start the model, like at least two years. Makes my old F4F sitting on top of file cabinet look in need of a good weathering and completing my antenae wire, got to get back on it.
Thanks to all for the concern and a special welcome to the WIX Bret.
Bret, I'll PM you soon.

It's apparently going to be a single one time post by Staton. It should
probably have been a PM but he wanted to post it here. I PM'd him but so far have not got a response. I haven't heard from him in a couple of years until now. I know he has planned for sometime to build this particular model and he knew I was a WIX member. He's a very savy young man especially when it comes to his warbirds and a lot of other things. He worked for me for about six years then left to pursue his career elsewhere. Hope this clears up the post somewhat.
