:D Here are some pics of my latest finished model. It's the Polikarpov I-5 flown by Ivan U. Pavlov, commander of the Red Air Force's Moscow Military District in 1932. Pavlov's aircraft was one of the late prototypes and as the only decent pic I've been able to find of it show no fuselage side guns and no gun sight so that's how I modelled it. On to the pics.

:D Hello MazdaP5,
It's the 1/72 scale ICM kit. It did have a little accident during the building process, I dropped it. That's why the interplane struts are a bit odd looking. It was a nice little build of a pretty little fighter, a contemporary of the Boeing P-12 in the US and the Bristol Bulldog in the UK.

Cheers,
Ross.

Cheers, it looks great. I can never build in such a small scale.
I especially like the banner markings on the side of the fuselage.

Very nice! Before I read your caption, I thought it reminded me a bit of the P-12.

:D Hello Steve,
Yes it does look a little like the P-12. It was designed around the same time and was also a contemporary of the Bristol Bulldog, with which it shared an engine, the M-22, a licence built version of the Bristol Jupiter. Although the power output of the two aircrafts' engines was similar, the Russian M-22 actually produced 30 hp more and the airframe was lighter so the Polikarpov was a little faster and a little more nimble in the air.

Cheers,
Ross.
