About time to post pics of a few of my humble 1/72 modeling efforts over the past couple years. You'll see that I generally prefer old, cheap kits and don't go crazy on detail; these are relaxation builds.

Nice builds.

I am a big fan of the old revell and Monogram kits, they dont have much detail...but they sure are relaxing to build, and they look like what they are supposed to be when their done

I like the pair of Desert Spits.

remember the days when you'd have to shoot your model pics with standard 35mm film?? get it developed etc??? the quality now with digital is 2nd to none, & 100% less hassle.

Somewhere I've got some 35mm slides I took of a few models back in high school (when disco was king, and the world wondered who shot J.R.)

My camera was a '50s vintage Argus C-3 "brick" (inherited from my dad, who'd bought off an army buddy who needed some quick cash.) I shot slides in those days, because back then they were cheaper to process than prints.

I used that old camera for years, until it was stolen out of my glovebox in '86. The don't get much more basic, but it still took decent pictures. Every now and then I see them at yard sales..I'm tempted to pick one up just for nostalgia...

Of course, since I went digital three years ago, I've probably shot ten times more pictures thatn the previous 30 years put together!

what's with the funky paint scheme underside of the kittyhawk

Standard RAF fighter markings for a short period from Nov. 1940 to Apr. 1941 required the port wing underside to be painted Night. Spitfires and Hurricanes also wore this paint scheme although it was effective for such a short time that many were never repainted in it. 403 Sqn RCAF had the scheme when initially equipped with Tomahawks (Apr.-June 1941) although they never actually went operational with this aircraft, switching to Spits before they started ops.
