I have not been able to get much done due to working getting in the way. I am a self employed aircraft mechanic and I have 2 annuals going on and a Supercub panel build and airframe rewire, along with a bathroom redo here at home. Back to working on the bathroom, I hate stripping off wallpaper :Hangman:

I would like to, but her kids might not understand. She is recently widowed, he died 5 months ago after suffering with brain cancer for 3 yrs, and I don't think she has told them she is seeing me. She has dropped them some hints, like she went riding on a motorcycle, which she had never done before. We are talking about going there in May.

I took her to Fountain Hills to see the worlds tallest fountain, and as we were walking back to the bike, we went by the playground, and she climbed onto the dinosaur. For someone that had never been on a bike before, she is making up for lost time, she now has 400 miles on the back of my Goldwings, split between the 1988 GL1500 and 2001 GL1800.

Yes, she has been the #1 priority. She has been sick since she got home from Hawaii last Fri. Today I took her to see the Dr. because last night she woke up with a high fever and chills. About 4 hrs ago her fever hit again and got up to 104.7. I called the Dr, who is a friend of mine, at home and was told to give her Advil and tylanol, It is down now to 100. Also my Dad was in the hospital with dehydration and pnuemonia. He is in a rehab place now till Tue, then to the hospital on Wed to have a feeding tube placed into his stomach to allow for some rapid weight gain. He had tongue cancer several yrs ago and has not been able to eat solid foods and has been getting by on ensure and food put thru a blender and it is getting to where that is not enough, hence the feed tube.

Oh. I did get a little done on the B-32, I just got in the bombs for the bomb bay. I order 8 1000Lb. GP bombs. They are from True Details and look very nice. I plan to work on the model on Sunday during the stupid bowl. I live 5 miles from the stadium and will go outside to see the overflight if any, Linda will watch the game on my 52in HDTV, and I will work on the model

I can’t argue with you on that Matt. Family ALWAYS comes first, no matter what. So when you find time, please post more pictures of your beautiful project. :)
Cheers,
SC.

Ok, I promised a update because I was going to work on the model because of the stupid bowl, so here it is. I assembled all the bombs I picked up the other day, and even got them painted, I also decieded to go ahead and use the other bombs I had on hand, so the bays will be filled with a total of 12 1000Lb GP bombs. The bomb on the left is the Tru-details bomb, as is the center that is still on the casting spru, the one on the right was one of th ebombs from my parts bin.

I also was able to cut out all the canopy frames for painting, I aslo cleaned up landing gear parts and did some other detail painting.

A side note, I live so close to the stadium that when the Blue Angels overflew the stadium, they flew was about 1/4 mile east of my house as they headed south. I saw them on the TV over fly the stadium and had just enough time to get outside as they went by.

I also found out Linda really gets into the game, I did not think that loud of yells could come out of a small girl.

In the interest of historical accuracy, I have to correct an earlier post I made on this thread. I talked about finding a picture of The Lady Is Fresh after her nose gear collapse, but I confused her with Hobo Queen II, the actual accident airplane at Yontan, Okinawa. It appear that The Lady Is Fresh was returned to the CONUS for disposal, while Hobo Queen II was scrapped on Okinawa in '46.

What are you gonna paint the canopies with? I've found that normal model paint doesn't stick to the softer vacuform canopies very well, and tends to flake off when you remove the masking. I usually use the Pactra "Racing Colors" paint as a primer..it's a "hotter" laquer-based paint, designed to stick to Lexan RC race car bodies. I'd prime the frames in black, then use your choice of exterior finish.

I am going to use Alclad II metalizer, I have it on hand from another project.
I am also looking for some 1/72 jeeps and trucks to go with it. Academy has a tow tractor with bomb trailer I am looking for.

Ok, update time, Linda is over her fever and my dad is home with a feeding tube installed, and has asked if he could have a beer injected thru it.
I actually did some work on the model today. I filled some small cracks in the trailing edges of the wings and tails and then sanded the filler. I also did a little rescribing on the belly of the fuselage.
I decieded the landing gear was beyond hope and started to build my own. I am using K&S Engineering Aluminum tubing I picked up from Hobby Lobby. I am using 3/32, 1/8x.014, 5/32x.014. The 1/8 is the main size, 3/32 is used for the inner strut, and the 5/32 is used for the reinforcment bands around the strut.

Here are my tools, nothing fancy, a pair of dividers, a razor saw, and a xacto knife, along with sanding film, oh and my magnifying visor.

I have not decieded if I am going to build 2 mains or use the completed gear for a master to pull a mould from and try casting legs in white metal.
Has anyone done any white metal casting ? Any thoughts ?
