Hello, Sorry for the lack of response on this… I’ve been a little busy. I put the cowl on ebay, I knew that we would limit the number of potential bidders by not offering to ship it. But it still sold, for the opening bid of $250. The timing was good as she is going to put the money towards a new laptop to use in her art classes.
I mentioned that I was not worried about the carpet where she was painting. I pulled that old carpet up and found hardwood flooring underneath it! That was a pleasant surprise!
I redid the floor… So now I ask her to please put down a drop cloth when she works in there.
For our next project, I picked up the rudder and vertical stabilizer from a Cessna 150 that was being scrapped. I want to build a stand for it, and illuminate the navigation lights with LED bulbs. We are looking at then repainting the rudder with militarily markings. Perhaps with the insignia of the VFA 31s Tomcatters. The rudder was cheap and we should be able to do the entire project for under $125. This will probably end up staying in our garage.
