I am surprised my ceiling did not come down...

In total I had close to 50 aircraft up there. Here are 11, including the massive 1/32 scale F-4 Phantom II.

This would have been in the Spring of 1978.

and yes.., I know the insignia on my 1:72 Revell B-24D is upside down.,. not sure if I knew it back then.., or cared.. obviously i was in such a hurry after glueing the wings on and having her dry upside down that i had to get the decals on her RIGHT NOW!!!

I am not sure what I was thinking on the Monogram 1:48 B-25. I had her silver, but was bored.., and had some extra cans of blue and orange spray paint in the garage.., so what the heck!>

I began to take these down over the next two years and carefully, ever so carefully wriggled them apart.., wrapped them in tissue and put them back in their original boxes. Then boxed them in a larger box and carefully squeezed them into our attic. I remember like it was yesterday when I came home from college in the late 80's and decided to pull a few of them out and admire my handiwork from a decade ago., and my mother said.,. "oh.., i threw those boxes out months ago:".., I wanted to throw her across the room so badly it still gets my blood boiling!!!

Pretty cool. I hung my models up from the ceiling too back in the late 70's. Not sure if there's a picture or not. Like that B-1. My brother had it.

The B-1 was cool.., i remember it had a clear 'bronze' colored cockpit section. I think it was a Testor's kit.
Not one of the 'usual' manufacturer's.

The wing in the upper right had corner is from my 1:48 Monogram collection. I had all five of their big kits hanging from there. The C-47, B-25, B-24, B-17 and the B-29.

My brother had two or three different of those 1/32 scale Phantoms. I remember us ruining them with fireworks trying to make them look like they had afterburners on. He also had a great 1/72 scale B-52. My collection was mostly 1/48 scale and 1/72 for the bigger planes. Wish I could find some photos of them.

I'll have to see if I can find some pictures of my old room. There were at least 150 hanging from the ceiling but they were mostly 1/72 and 1/48.

I had about 70-80 from my ceiling, all 1/72, all flying the same direction. THose were good times, I would use stick on tattoos as nose art!

in my teen years most of mine were shot down by rubberband ack ack. i don't think my dad would have appreciated bb gun holes in the ceiling!! i later graduated to outdoor heavy artillery as many of you know.

I had about 130 or so hanging up. I'll see if I can find pics... When I moved out of my parents house I left most of them there. Only about a dozen or so at the new place.

Only one hanging up outside my office at work. But it's a 1:33 Vulcan, so it makes up in volume what it lacks in numbers.
