Building a 1/350 Battleship New Jersey cause I'm visiting family for Holidays. Its not a warbird, but all my other kits are in Texas. Snowed in Chesapeake,VA. Over 12 in. in my parents yard. Mostly build 1/48 aircraft, have quite a few 1/72 WW2 planes(P-51,PBY-5 Catalina BlackCat,Airfix PBY-5A,and modernjets(F-4's,B/C,J's and N) and MARINE CH-46's(D,E/F). Planning on getting a Hobbyboss CH-46E/F, granddad was in HMM-774,MasterGunny in charge of the squadrons maintenance until he retired. My uncle took over after that. Got interested in what granddad did in WW2 and in USMCR. Started building F4U-4,A-4B and CH-46's.

Wow, looks like you get snowed in alot. Those dioramas are really nice! I'm hoping to get to one of the local hobbyshops in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area when the roads are clear. Seemed like 18 in. of snow on the driveway that had to be shoveled.

Well, it stopped being Grosse Ile NAS in the late 60's, and now it is a municiple airport. However, the Yankee Air Museums B-17, B-24, and C-47 all fly out of Grosse Ile right now while the new hangar is being built at Willow Run, so it's still got round engines flying in and out.
