Hi all,
I have asked this question before but being totally disorganised, I've lost the answer and I can never get the search facility to work (more likely my failings rather that the system not working correctly)on the old WIX forum.
I'm looking for details on the PR Spitfire used to photograph the aftermath of the Dams Raid and IIRC, it was a PR.XI and the name of the pilot was Frey.
I'm also looking for details on the colour of the airframe (PR blue, PR pink or standard camoflauge) if known.
Thanks, Tony
PS
I've put this request in the Model Forum, as its needed to complete a 1/72 model.

I can have a look tonight - think it was EN349 (maybe not, but definitely an EN) serial no.

Thanks Daz,
I seem to remember being told that it was EN343 but would be grateful of confirmation!

Actually, it was a Spitfire PR.IX. The pilot's name was F D Fray, and he was in 542 Squadron.
As there were only fifteen MkIX Spitfires converted to PR.IX standard, it shouldn't be a problem finding it!
Back soon....!!

Well, it looks like pinning down that serial won't be as easy as I thought! I tried my best line of info (the BIG Spitfire expert) and he doesn't know without a trip to the PRO in Kew!!
A look in Spitfire - The History also failed to turn up the fifteen Spitfires (which I thought would be listed easily - guess not!).
It is out there, though....!

Ahhh, Spitfire, The History....
Already been there and as you have found, no confirmation still I appreciate your help, thanks.
