I am in the process of building this giant model of a MIG15 using a 1950's F-86 Sabre Jet drop tank as the fuselage. The inner wings are made from industrial cooling fan blades. The wing tips are made from the horizontal stabilizer off of a Beech Musketeer. The tail surfaces are hand made, as well as all of the fairings. I used go-cart wheels. I still have to make the machine guns and to round of the wing tips. Then I plan to polish the entire thing out and paint the Soviet insignia.

If only I had talent, I could make something like that (or even think of it!).

I'm not sure if it takes talent or just being dropped as a baby a lot.

I just don't have the capability to conceive of an original project like this. The artist in me just ain't there!

Thanks for the compliment! I should have the Mig15 finished this week. Lots of polishing going on right now on the aluminum.

That looks great. Are you building it for yourself or for a museum or other display?

I'm building it for a guy who just wants it to hang in his hanger.

I finally finished the 23mm cannons today. At last I have polished the underside of the plane and will begin to polish the top surfaces next.
