WOW! That's a lot of work!
I can't wait to see the finished bird!

One word of caution. The photos of the -4 cockpit in the Squadron Signal Corsair book that you are using as reference are of the New England Air Museum's XF4U-4. There are some things in that cockpit that are not standard to a generic, factory production F4U-4. NEAM's aircraft was a prototype and after that, the Navy used it in weapons testing so there is some extra "stuff" in there that shouldn't be on a Korean Combat bird.

Also, though I am familiar with the Corsair as a whole, I'm not an expert, so I can't comment on how close the FG-1D and F2A Corsairs that you are using as references are to a later Dash 4 Corsair.
They are probably pretty close, but there might be differences.

Not a -4 but the web site below covers the restoration of an FG-1D and has some of the best detail shots I have ever found of the Corsair. Their may be some stuff on there that would interest you. Good luck with it!

Great Job on your F4U-4 build! I've done one very similar in 1/48 using a Haseawa -4. It is still a Work in Progress. Built front bulkhead and wingspar out of plastic sheet. Enginemount is flexible plastic-coated wire from child's toy. Used a Engine and Things R-2800 18W resin engine with copper plugwires and scratchbuilt details,pushrods are dress shirt pins,used rosin-core solder for intake and exhaust. Engine is a model kit in itself.Removed accessory panel, cowling panels to show engine. New Cowl panels are .015 sheet,florist wire under .010 cowl flaps. I dropped the wingflaps,repositioned elevators(tabs) and rudder, all plastic, no resin conversion kit. Have not used photo-etch details on this kit. It has really pushed my modeling skills. l'll use Tamiya rocket stubs with scratchbuilt rails. Aircraft markings as #111 VMA-211,AF tailcode with Red/white striped prop,wingtips, rudder and tailcone. I am member of El Paso Scale Model Society, an IPMS Chapter. I also have a -4P with a scratch-built photo compartment. Tamiya -1D will be Reno race#1 Super Corsair,but I need a resin R-4360. Have already clipped wings,built firewall,have Skyraider prop,A-26 cowlring. Your Corsair is looking real good. Merry Christmas, Dane Alley

Made any more progress since Christmas and New Years?
We were snowed in in Chesapeake,VA had 14" at my parents house. They live out in Great Bridge and all secondary roads were iced up. All I've had to build is an old 1/350 Revell "New Jersey" Battleship kit. My Corsairs and other Warbirds are back in El Paso. After seeing what you've done to your Corsair, I'm gonna correct mine and finally finish.
