weather kept people away for most of the day. It was 4000' broken and gusting off the water and only about 50 degrees max. The traffic pattern was a little slow at first but it got better as time went on. There were 4 L-17s in attendance. 2 from Marlboro, MA one from Nashua, NH and one from Augusta, ME along with various civilian types of single engine a/c.

After the departure of all the Navion's (2 singles and one 2-ship departure) The airport was given to Ray M. for a little aerobatic routine in his Pitts. During the start of his routine a call came over the radio "Plum Island Traffic, Storm 01" followed by a request for a little hover work.

There it was arriving on a downwind in forward flight mode and soon transitioning to hover for two slow trips around the pattern.

I was amazed with the suprise appearance of a V-22 at the Plum Island Airfield this afternoon! WOW! What a machine!
