Hey everyone, just wanted to give a shoutout to any and all in the Dallas, Fort Worth area, that "Warbirds on Parade" is just around the corner on Sept 5th. This is a co-event between the CAF "DFW Wing" and the "Cold War Air Museum". The event is at the Lancaster airfield, which is home to the DFW Wing and the CWAM. MiGs, Hinds, and a Cobra will be on display and the Mi-2 may turn the blades and take a spin. The CAF P-40N will be flying in from Addison along with our B-24A "Ol' 927". The CAF Corsair is based at Lancaster and will also be on display. The Cavanaugh Flight Museum brought the Skyraider last year and it may return again.... We are expecting over 35 aircraft so, come and have some fun. Rides are being booked/presold in the B-24A and you can book in advance thru either our squadron phone 432-413-4100 or by the website www.cafb29b24.org. The first rides flight is already sold out and the second is filling up fast..... Alan

Heh, I got my months mixed up and took some girl scouts there on the first weekend in August. They wanted to see the girl helicopter pilot.

Boy did I feel dumb.

But a good time was had by all. The scouts grabbed some brooms and swept while I looked at the aircraft. The doors were open at the work hanger for the CWAM and we got to see the MiG-23.

There are great folks at both places there in Lancaster.

I was informed that the Cavanaugh Flight Museum will be sending down the Skyraider... not sure if she is going to have a CFM companion.... another new DFW Wing aircraft will be flown in Saturday.... their newly assigned Stearman...... Should be fun for all..... Alan
