The National Museum of the USAF in Dayton is having a show featuring replica WWI aircraft on the last weekend in September. They are currently accepting pilot registrations, so I don't know the final count of flying aircraft yet. The show features aircraft flybys, an RC airplane show, re-enactors, and vintage cars. Many vintage weapons, uniforms, medical items, and other artifacts from the war are displayed on the show site. |

I know that at least four airplanes are here already....the three full-size Fokker team from Colorado being lead by Andrew King and a 7/8 scale SE5a (which arrived a week ago from Michigan and is in my hangar). Weather forecast for the weekend is bad with T-storms and such. Currently overcast here in Dayton with lots of rain just across the border in Indiana. We plan on heading over Friday afternoon/Saturday morning. |

I usually volunteer at the museum every Friday but took this week off as I have 2 of my sons coming in from New Jersey and New Mexico for the fly in. We may go over to Urbana to see the progress of the B-17 there as well as over to the Wright Flyer Hanger. Hopefully a trip to Neil Armstrong's museum as well. So in addition to the museum fly in, we hope to have a busy weekend. |

I lent them a magneto last night to get the Fokker D.VIII running correctly. Still crappy weather here in Dayton although my wife tells me there are about 6 airplanes across the field from her office. |

We were there for a few hours this afternoon. There was about 7 or 8 in the air for a short while. It started raining again and we decided to head back home. Perhaps tomorrow will be a better weather day. |

I hope to as well ... left my camera and lenses home .... Hope to go to the Wright Flyer hanger in the morning and then back to the museum in the afternoon. The had the gate on Airway open and makes it easier than driving thru the museum parking lot and all around the gravel road to the back. Assuming they will keep it open over the weekend. |
